xmas and new year are over. Nothing much has gone on but I feel as though it was a non-stop event.

Joshua received a new pet for xmas, a bearded dragon lizard. Since then we have been on a learning experience with a steep learning curve. Today I have set up our cricket breeding system which will hopefully relieve the need to pay $7 every 2 days to keep the thing fed. It started on xmas day as 125mm long , a week later and it has grown 10mm at least. 10% in a week !! Its a very clever little thing and I can easily waste time just sitting and watching him watch me.

Some movies that have been and gone over the break.....

Good.
Appaloosa - very bleak, quiet western , a very big winner.
Body of Lies - Muslim DiCaprio ?? but it works.
Choke - very nice
Slumdog Millionaire - the weakest of the good movies listed but with good pedigree and worth it for the dance sequence.
Dr Horribles Singalong Blog - Absolutely wonderful, could not have been more suprised and happy at how this turned out.
Humboldt County - Another wonderful movie that will almost certainly never make it big.

Bad.
Stiletto - Just shit
Ghost Town - Why do great UK comediens go to Hollywood and churn out Romantic Shit ?

Thats enough for now

Not much to add , just a journal entry really.....
First hot day in Melbourne today for a while 35 ish or something , still sat sweating in the shed. Having a beer to cool down though.
Contemplating selling my wooden framed LCD on ebay.
Ive made two modded LCDs and Im kind of attached to both of them so I asked a pro artist friend of mine how to go about the emotional side of selling something you have put your heart into. She said sell it for a lot. There ya go !!

The left hand speaker looks shocking in this picture but is in fact not all that bad. Im not sure what it is about my camera but it shows the worst of everything in the shed.

My latest blast at the past. Not exactly NeoVic but Neo something. This looked like it would be a simple cut and shut job but ended up taking a whole night. The result though is rather dandy.

Apologies for the poor picture quality, something needs to be done about that !!

Ok , its been a little while but Im back at it. LAtely I have been following the works of Mr Jake Von Slatt and his Steampunk Workshop. Suddenl it all seemed so clear , all the shit Ive been collecting from the side of the road was suddenly worthwhile , I have a hobby and it means I can mix my favourite things , hard core metalwork , and computers
Im guessing its only a short time before I creat something based on computers metal steam and beer!

Fix up weekend approaching , I need to tidy up the truck a bit to get it ready for selling and fix the PC which seems to have a locking up kinda problem. Both painful tasks but I will be rewarded by going to watch the Hawks play Melbourne on Sunday at the MCG with Hannah. Josh got free tickets for two games from Auskick so I am taking Hannah this weekend and Josh in about a month to the Sydney game.

Ive been a bit slack lately and not been updating so i need to back-track a bit.
Easter weekend Marnie was going to take the kids away camping for school holidays , I then planned a short break with Dad to go fishing. We then thought better of it due to a sudden fear of freezing cold conditions ( it may have dropped as low as 20 degrees!!) and decided instead to book a hotel in the city and go to see the footy. About lunchtime we headed in to town, booked in to our hotel in Spencer street and then headed over to Docklands for a feed and some beers.
Docklands being the place it is we had several beers and they ranged in price from $8 each down to the last place we found which were $2.50 each . Strangely we didnt go back to the $8 place. Much looking at boats and waterfront apartments was done and then we took a quick stroll up to the Telstra Dome for the game.
Our seats were alongside the run that the players come through n to the pitch which caused some excitement for a while until we realised it was the wrong end and all we would see was the Sydney Swans. Never mind , here they are...

The Swans

In a rather dull game the Saints won by a couple of points.

Inside the Telstra Dome

After the game we headed in to Crown Casino and managed to gamble away $5 each over the course of about 3 hours! Then it was stumbling back to the hotel for a brief nap before getting up and heading back home.
Once home I began the task of preparing the family for our next trip into the city to see the Hawks play the Demons at the MCG !
Josh decided he didnt want to join us so he stayed with Grandma while we went off to pick up Ben and his friend Jess instead.
All went well on this trip too with the Hawks thumping the Demons by over 100 points.
Rather than being on the boundary like we were at the Dome this time I was up in the rafters of the MCG which gives a much clearer view of the game but I found it lacked some of the atmosphere that comes with being close enough to feel the tackles.

Hawks GOAL!

The other important fact to record about the trip was that Hannah needed to wee on the train trip home. This meant we would have to get off at Camberwell and wait for the next train which would probably extend the travel time by 40 minutes. Amazingly the train stopped right next to the toilets and Hannah managed to get in, out and back to the train before it set off again (with a bit of door holding) a really great job.
